Why you need to drink more water to protect your teeth

Posted on 1/24/2022 by Rho Family Dentistry
Water is life, and it is one of the products you should intake in plenty. Water plays a significant role in dental health. Our dentists will take you through the uses of water in maintaining oral health.

Prevention of gum disease

Drinking plenty of water is not only beneficial to one's overall health, but it is also beneficial to one's oral health. Food particles stuck between the teeth and in the mouth are flushed away by water. Plaque production is caused by food particles in the teeth, which leads to tooth decay, cavities, and dental caries. Make sure you're drinking plenty of water to keep your mouth moist. It stops your mouth from drying out, giving you confidence.

Prevent bad breath

Water has numerous health benefits, and if you drink enough of it, you are less likely to develop health problems. Drink plenty of water if you want your mouth to smell fantastic. In between the teeth, water wipes out bacteria and food particles. Harmful breath is caused by dehydration because the body is unable to combat bad bacteria when it is dehydrated. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to avoid bad breath.

Prevent dry mouth after medicinal use of marijuana

One of the most common side effects of marijuana use is having a dry mouth. It doesn't matter if you smoke it, vape it, drink it, or consume it in any other way. Cannabis binds to neurological receptors in the body, preventing them from sending commands to the salivary gland to create enough saliva for the mouth. Tooth decay, germs, and yeast infections are all caused by a dry mouth. If you're taking marijuana for medicinal purposes, drink plenty of water and eat sugar-free candies to avoid the effects of dry mouth. Take in plenty of water and learn more about water use.
